The passion for perfection that distinguishes today's myriad of
Meguiar's products is rooted in a family heritage that reaches back
several generations. It began in an age when the automobile itself was
something of a curiosity-and the concept of caring for a vehicle's
finish had many miles to go.
This was when Frank Meguiar began his quest for new and better ways to
provide protection and beauty for people's most prized possessions.
Turning his garage in Evansville, Indiana into a laboratory and
production plant, his experiments soon produced the first products to
display what would eventually become a brand recognized by automotive
enthusiasts around the world. A brand that now has the highest customer
loyalty of any car wax in America, according to a major independent
study.
In the early days, not only did all of Frank's products bear the Meguiar
name, so did all of his employees. Equipped with an egg beater, the
Meguiar children helped their father produce enough product each day to
meet the following day's sales quota. Today, the breadth of our product
line makes Meguiar's the most diversified company of its kind anywhere
on Earth. Since 1901, Frank's first surface care solutions have expanded
into a vast family of cleaners, polishes, waxes, conditioners,
protectants and sealants. Whether they're for cars, boats, airplanes,
furniture or other applications, you'll find our products in the hands
of discriminating consumers and professionals worldwide.
Until the end of his life in 1950, Frank Meguiar remained committed to
advancing the science of surface care. His dedication was twofold:
relentless advances in technology, plus ongoing training in the latest
techniques for applying those advances. Frank's son Malcolm has for many
years been intimately involved in continuing the company's technological
initiatives. These efforts have become even more essential as protecting
new generations of lighter, stronger synthetic materials and surface
coatings requires close cooperation with the manufacturers who develop
and use them.
Caring for new kinds of finishes also helps drive Meguiar's extensive
training programs. Consumer literature, plus professional schools, data
sheets and educational videos help disseminate information wherever our
products are used. And our massive Mobile Training Center turns a
custom-built tractor trailer into a multi-media-equipped classroom on
wheels.
As Meguiar's approaches a full century of serving its customers, we've
evolved a lot from those early days in Frank's garage. Our headquarters
is now in Southern California. And we operate a highly automated factory
in Nashville, Tennessee. But some things really haven't changed.
President and CEO Barry Meguiar and Chairman Mike Meguiar still run a
family business that now spans more than four generations. And most
important of all, we're as committed as ever to providing our growing
family of customers with even more effective solutions to their surface
care needs.
